Why are more and more people choosing concealed carry? Making individuals and the public safer first, protected by the Second Amendment, protecting women and minorities who cannot always rely on police protection.
Second, several US states passed concealed carry laws in the late 20th century, making it easier to obtain a concealed carry permit. These laws created a “shall issue” concealed carry model, removing the requirement for people to prove they “need” to carry a firearm (the “may issue” concealed carry model does).
As concealed carry permits became easier to obtain, more people began concealed carry. Once it becomes clear that more concealed carry will not lead to “street blood” or other negative social consequences, the practice will be normalized, and then it will be easier for other states to obtain concealed carry permits — thus further normalizing concealed carry.
