Proponents of concealed carry say concealed carry deters crime, keeps individuals and the public safer, is protected by the Second Amendment, and protect women and minorities who can’t always rely on the police for protection.
We know from FBI statistics that every year at least 2.5 million Americans use firearms in self-defense against criminals, and at least 200,000 women use firearms to protect themselves from sexual assault. Also, there are many gun defenses that have never been reported and were successful without shots being fired and no one injured, so we have a need for concealed carry!
